Going Beyond The Façade.

Tactile and experiential, 1205 Collection at West Half is a strikingly distinctive ‘building within a building’ offering a unique window into the burgeoning Ballpark District in Washington DC. Envisioned by ODA Architects as a liveable work of art, its tectonic silhouette houses myriad multi-dimensional design moments and illustrious creative partnerships that serve to position it as West Half’s premium offer.

We partnered with JBG SMITH to develop a brand identity and marketing collateral that eloquently communicates 1205 Collection’s design-forward ethos and commitment to poetically unexpected living to an audience of urbane professionals with an appreciation for unique spaces that effortlessly deliver more than anticipated.

Taking its cues from 1205 Collection’s signature terraced facade, the identity incorporates a sun-lit palette, staggered design elements and rhapsodic language that together create an experiential tapestry of design that, like the building, can be appreciated at length and from any perspective.

A suite of accompanying print collateral including a coffee table book and interim brochure carefully blends the art book and magazine genres to create a keepsake “anti-brochure” that breaks with convention and subverts audience expectations about what marketing materials for a residential building should be.

Seamlessly extending ODA’s architectural intent, luminous photography and bespoke still lifes celebrate the building and its finishes in atmospheric, abstract fashion; conversations with collaborators such as designer Venus Williams and artist Laura Kaufman underscore the considered creativity that exalts 1205 Collection beyond mere building.

Transformative and collaborative, the brand celebrates ‘The Meeting of Minds’ and the collective responses of architects, designers and artists that share a passion for the city, the building and its environment.

“By peeling back the face of West Half Street as it approaches the stadium, the threshold between inside and outside, public and private, is blurred, allowing people and the building to participate with the world beyond their front doors.”
